In July 2017, Chen KuanMing made his debut at the National Taichung Theater as Marchese d’Obigny in La traviata. The singer, who is graduated with Bachelor’s degree from the Taipei National University of the Arts. Chen studied under Professors Pei-Chi Chen and Yi-Lin Hsu. During this time he appeared on stage in roles such as Don Giovanni(Don Giovanni), Figaro(Le Nozze di Figaro), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Enrico(Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Pasquale(Don Pasquale), Belcore(L'elisir d'amore).
In October 2017, Chen continued his studies in Germany, studied in HfKM Regensburg (College of Catholic Church Music and Musical Education), under Professor Christian Schmidt. Chen has also appeared as solo Bass in concerts, including Händel’s Chandos Anthem, Händel’s Messiah, Haydn's The Creation, Mozart’s Spatzen Messe, Brahms’s Neue Liebeslieder, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Jost’s Lover and Tang Jian-Ping’s Genghis Khan.
BIOGRAFIE
Der Bass-Bariton Kuan-Ming Chen wurde 1992 in Taiwan geboren. Er studierte zunächst Gesang in Taiwan an der National University of Arts Taipei und an der Tunghai University. Nach seinem Bachelorabschluss kam er nach Deutschland und setzt sein Masterstudium an der HfKM Regensburg bei Prof. Christian Schmidt-Timmermann. Während seines Studiums in Taiwan gewann Chen den 2. Preis des „Taiwan Students Music“-Wettbewerbs in der Solowertung Bass.
Er sang sowohl auf europäischen als auch asiatischen Bühnen. Sein Repertoire umfasst Partien wie Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Figaro (Le Nozze die Figaro), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Pasquale (Don Pasquale), Belcore (L’elisir d‘amore). Außerdem ist er seit 2018 Mitglied der Audi-Jugendchorakademie.
